The Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) lists those occupations and specializations identified by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) that are in short supply.

To apply for a General Skilled Migration visa you must nominate an occupation that is on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) at the time you apply. The Skilled Occupation List lists all eligible occupations for General Skilled Migration, and the number of points awarded for each.
Regardless of which General Skilled Migration visa you apply for, you must provide evidence that your skills have been assessed as suitable for your nominated occupation by the relevant assessing authority for your nominated occupation before your visa can be granted.

- Approval from ACS-Send your documents to ACS (Australian Computer Society-application fee $350 Australian).) to get your qualification assessed. Once your assessment done make sure you have IELTS ready to apply DIAC (In this process, it should take 4-8 weeks may be more if you send your paper work correct.

- Apply DIAC after having your suitability result from ACS. $2060 (Australian) is needed to apply DIAC. If your case is all well equipped and error free, it would need 1.5-2.2 years to be finalized by DIAC.
- Once you are approved, you will need to supply IELTS score along with your application fee to DIAC. To remind you, if you are married you must need your spouse to take IELTS or pay $2690 to DIAC. In this process, DIAC will advise you to do medical exams for your kids, spouse and yourself. This will cost around 10,000 Taka (approx) in Dhaka.
- Police clearance- Original police clearance is needed for all who (more than 18 years of old) have been included in the application. Where ever you lived more than 3 months or more you need to have a police clearance from there. It is advised that, police clearance you manage at the end of the process. I would suggest when they ask for medical tests you manage your all police clearance. As it is 6 months valid, even though you get it early stage you need to get it done again.
